Description
This magnificent hand-engraved copper bottle is an exceptional piece of Ghalam-Zani (???????) art from Isfahan. Moving away from standard floral patterns, this bottle features a rare, highly collectible historical narrative design, meticulously chiseled to depict iconic royal reliefs from ancient Persian history.
Key Features & Artistry
Historical Narrative Motifs: The main body features deeply chiseled reliefs inspired by the ancient palaces of Persepolis (Achaemenid Empire). The prominent scene depicts the classic Persian king in a royal battle of triumph over a mythical horned beast/demon, flanked by royal court guards and torchbearers.
The Crowned Finial Cap: The vessel comes equipped with a beautifully proportioned, removable domed lid topped with a classic pointed finial. The lid is independently engraved with elegant, segmented arabesque panels.
Fluted Neck Details: The teardrop-shaped shoulders are adorned with elongated teardrop panels (Toranj) containing delicate scrollwork, transitioning into a multi-tiered ringed neck that provides excellent structural balance.
Deep Shadow Contrast (Siah-Galam): The piece utilizes heavy dark patination within the chiseled recesses to contrast sharply against the warm, rich tones of the hand-polished copper base, bringing the ancient figures to life with dramatic three-dimensional depth.
