IPL
Through the use of IPL technology, hair removal is now a permanent solution to reduce or eliminate unwanted hair, thus creating a smooth body surface and enhancing the desired beauty of one’s appearance. Targeting and eliminating over one hundred hair follicles instantly, IPL hair removal has proved to be a mild and gentle form of beauty enhancement. This process is quite different from any other alternative solutions that people currently have available to them — shaving, waxing, tweezing, and pulling — all of which are intrusive and require monthly if not weekly follow up. IPL hair removal creates a permanent effect, eliminating the need for the other more invasive (and painful) methods altogether.
This technology is quite extraordinary as IPL only targets melanin, a pigment, located within each hair. The light energy induces “thermal damage” to each follicle that is targeted, rendering a state of delayed re-growth and the eventual destruction of the hair’s growth capabilities altogether. IPL offers a safe and effective way to remove unwanted hair.
HISTORY & PROCESS
Developed in 1994 and later approved by the FDA in 1997, IPL technology combines the benefits of intense light with a patented “chill tip”, allowing for safe treatment of any skin color (4Ëš C / 39Ëš F). IPL treatments typically require between three to six sessions to be completely effective; a schedule should be repeated and sequenced for optimal results. Sessions may vary depending on skin and hair type and hormone balance. Fine or dark hair requires up to eight sessions to be completely effective due to the nature of the hair follicle. Clients who have hormone imbalances may require ongoing treatment, yet this procedure is significantly more effective than traditional methods of hair removal. Each treatment equates to a reduction of approximately 20-30% of hair volume. IPL hair removal technology is permanently effective in 90% of individuals.
Age limits are not officially established for IPL treatment, yet it is recommended that females have gone though puberty to be the most effective. Any age can benefit from the treatment, but clients should understand any potential side effects and the process itself. IPL treatment sessions may last anywhere between five minutes to two hours, depending on skin color, hair type, hormone balance, and quantity of hair desired to be removed.
Tanning should be limited when engaging in IPL treatment, as the skin produces melanin when exposed to the sun for duration of time. The light may become distracted by the melanin in the skin and not focus the full beam energy entirely on the hair follicle, thereby losing effectiveness. Although the light is cool to the skin, safe, and will not effect the tan in any way, it may result in additional sessions needed to complete the treatment.
IPL SAFETY
IPL technology is not permitted for pregnant women, those currently using Acutane, or if your body produces Keliods. Those suffering from cold sores or genital herpes should also consult their treatment specialist before starting treatment. Those who have undergone waxing, tweezing, or electrolysis in a period of four weeks prior to treatment should consult with their technician, however it is advised that treatment will not be fully effective in these instances.
ADDITIONAL USES FOR IPL TECHNOLOGY
- Skin discoloration (moles, sun spots, birthmarks, freckles, pigmentation, chloasma, etc.)
- Dermatological scars (acne, allergy, enlarged pores)
- Facial veins/inflammation (caused by sensitive skin)
- Skin irregularities (softening, contracting pores, black pore minimization)
- Facial tightening / lifting
- Stretchmark removal
- Reduction of persistent dark eye circles
- Treating Folliculites
- Treating Mammary Red Aerola
MICRO-BEAM THERAPY
Micro-Beam therapy is a non-surgical process whereby a beam of light activates the body’s sympathetic nerves. This increases the blood pressure of the breast’s capillary vessels, allowing the secretion of more estrogen in that area. This accelerates the microcirculation and thickens the connective tissue, which in turn strengthens ligaments and breast cells, increasing breast size by using the natural process of the body.
PROCESS
The light treatment stimulates, and thereby reproduces, the body’s natural growth process that one would experience in puberty or pregnancy. During these natural courses of development, estrogen unique to breast tissue development is generated. Breast size and fullness are entirely dependent upon the quantity of estrogen and distinctive breast tissue hormone produced at these times. Puberty provides a finite amount of time for each woman to receive these heightened hormones resulting in the development of breast size. Pregnant women receive these hormones again, temporarily, and the increase results in enhanced breast size, although the cell growth is temporary. With age the body begins producing less and less of these hormones, resulting in underdeveloped, sagging, or misshapen conditions. The Micro-Beam therapy offers a safe treatment that stimulates breast tissue growth without initiating milk production. Sustaining long-term benefits from treatment, and the number of treatments necessary, depends on the initial and ultimate breast size.
Most women will begin feeling the process working within the first two weeks of treatment — tingling indicates the reactivation of breast nerve endings. The breasts will begin to exhibit firmness within three to four weeks as the mammary glands begin to enlarge and develop breast tissue. Breast growth will become evident within five to eight weeks — between ¼ to a full cup size. Those who continue the treatment can result in up to three full cup sizes.
Miro-Beam therapy typically requires six treatments to be fully effective, with variations in body physiology, chemistry, and the degree of the desired effect determining the ultimate length of time and effectiveness.
PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY
Photodynamic therapy encourages the skin to initiate the rejuvenation process, helpful in eliminating several skin ailments — unattractive scars, skin bacteria, or skin discoloration. This light therapy process is a safe and successful method of enabling your body to create healthy and beautify skin naturally, thereby treating a variety of skin ailments.
PROCESS
Photodynamic therapy utilizes red and blue light wave technology at a various stages and spectra to treat a multitude of skin conditions.
Blue light inhibits inflammation and eliminates Propionibacterium acne; a bacteria which is a determining factor in the cause of acne. This bacteria, when left unchecked, accumulates levels of porphyrins high enough to promote acne. The process of blue light photodynamic therapy exposure causes a reaction within the porphyrins, resulting in singlet oxygen accumulation within the bacteria, ultimately eliminating the bacteria and acne altogether.
Red light facilitates the natural process of skin rejuvination. It also promotes skin whitening, skin injury recovery, and speckle or vascular removal. Targeting the red light through specified wavelengths accelerates and promotes collagenic fiber production. Specifically activating the mitochondria — the influencing generator of cells — facilitates the production of collagen and fiber. This process promotes the breakdown of dead skin cells, thus promoting skin resurfacing, reducing fine wrinkles, and skin whitening.
SKIN REJUVINATION
VARICOSE VEINS
“Varicose veins” is a term for enlarged and colored veins (blue, purple, flesh) that emerge as unsightly twisted or bulging cords that are visible along the skin’s surface. Raised above the skin surface, varicose veins often are located on legs. They can also be caused during pregnancies (also referred to as hemorrhoids) that are formed within the vagina or around the anus due to excessive pressure in that region.
SPIDER VEINS
“Spider veins”, or broken capillaries that appear in streaked patterns along the face or legs, are caused over time due to a variety of factors — trauma, extensive sun exposure, or simply aging. Spider veins are often smaller in size and shape than varicose veins, and are red or blue in color and closer to the surface of the skin. Named after their appearance, spider veins resemble tree branches or spider webs articulated in small jagged lines. Spider veins can appear anywhere in the body, but are commonly found on the face or legs, and the coverage area can vary greatly.
VARICOSE & SPIDER VEIN REMOVAL
IPL technology offers an exceptionally successful means of treating this condition by delivering focused energy on a given area that eliminates spider veins in a few minutes. This amazing technology has quick replaced the more invasive procedures that were only available to those wishing to eliminate this unwanted look. In only minutes, and within one to two sessions, damaged capillaries are completely removed from sight. IPL light therapy is more appealing than invasive treatments using needles or incisions. Normal activity can be resumed immediately after treatment.
